Winhanced: Living Glass Launches to the Public A New Era of Handheld Gaming UX Begins Today
May 24, 2025

After two weeks of early access testing with our Patreon community, we’re excited to announce that the Living Glass version of Winhanced is now available for all users.
This isn’t just an update — it’s a full reinvention of the Winhanced experience. Built from the ground up for handheld PCs and optimized for all input types, Living Glass is smoother, faster, and more intuitive. Whether you’re on a ROG Ally, Legion Go, or a high-end desktop, this is the future of Winhanced.
A Refined, Responsive UI
Living Glass introduces a brand-new interface, designed to scale beautifully across different screen sizes and devices. The layout is built with a controller-first mindset, but also feels natural with a touchscreen or keyboard and mouse.
Installed and Owned Library Support
Your library is now smartly split between installed games and your full owned collection, making it easier to manage your titles across platforms. You can install, launch, or add games from:
Steam
Xbox Game Pass
Epic Games
Manually added Other Library (with full metadata and artwork support)
You can also sign in to supported platforms to enable installation directly from Winhanced.

HowLongToBeat Integration
All games in your library now feature estimated playtimes powered by HowLongToBeat. Whether you’re tackling a 40-hour RPG or looking for a quick indie title, this integration helps you plan your play sessions better.

The New “What’s New” Tab
Stay informed and inspired with our new What’s New section, a dynamic carousel that pulls in fresh content from around the gaming industry. It features trending topics, news, updates, and community highlights — all in one place.

Better and Optional Sleep and Wake Handling
If enabled in settings, you can now put your device to sleep simply by tapping the power button — no awkward closing or menu fiddling. This feature works as long as your device is configured in Windows to sleep on power press.
Broad Input and Controller Support
We’ve tested Living Glass on everything from analog sticks to touchscreen and mouse setups. It works fluidly across all of them. So far, we’ve confirmed support for:
Xbox controllers
Sony DualSense
Built-in controls on the Ally X and Legion Go
Steam Deck (running Windows — some quirks remain)

Devices We’ve Tested On
Here’s a quick list of systems that have been tested and verified:
ROG Ally (OG)
ROG Ally X
Lenovo Legion Go
ASUS Flow Z13 (2025)
Desktop PC (Intel i7 + RTX 4090)
What’s Not in This Build (Yet)
Living Glass is a clean slate, and while it includes many core features, some legacy features are still in development:
Controller remapping
The Winhanced overlay
Command Center tools
Universal Pause
